My mom's basset Kaos.

The dog days of summer

I'm beginning to think whoever invented air conditioning had a basset hound.  The only thing to do in this miserable midwestern heat this summer is find some shade and a couple of Adirondack chairs.  Who's with me?

Georgie?  Venus?

How about you 99?  Is it hot out here or what?

Kaos lives with my mother here in Des Moines.  She is one of 7 kids in a litter out of 99 and Toby from Olde Fashion basset hounds.  She is gentle, sweet, and the worlds best big sister to Georgie.

I can't say enough good things about Kaos.  She takes really good care of my mom when I'm not around.

Rico visits his sister Kaos

I took Rico over to his sister Kaos's house to see if we could get some pictures together since they look so similar.  First we pay tribute to their mother, 99!

And here is the brother sister reunion.  Don't they look excited to see each other?

Kaos photo shoot

Kaos stopped over today to see her mama.  It fascinates me how bassets can understand humans.  Often I play a game with Kaos where I just say a word, then watch her expression.

I say "bacon"

Kaos turns 5

Kaos turns 5 on May 6, so we always celebrate her birthday with Venus to kind of "class it up" a little bit. And with a face like this, you see what I mean by 'classin it up'
